George Lance Young 71, of Webster Springs, WV, died on Friday, June 10, 2011, in Webster County Memorial Hospital, Webster Springs, WV. He was born August 6, 1939, son of the late George and Evelyn Young. He was retired from the Reynolds Aluminum, Richmond, VA. He lived in Richmond from 1963-2003 then returned to his native Webster County. He attended the Emmanuel Assembly of God, Upperglade, WV, and enjoyed helping others. He loved to "tinker", enjoyed CB radios, and family and church gatherings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Genelda Young and brother: Velton Young. He is survived by a daughter: Shelly Hougheston of Richmond, VA, a son: Greg Young of Wasilla, AK, brothers: David (Suzie) Young, Mark (Johnny) Young, John (Shirley) Young, and Jeff (Sandra) Young all of Webster Springs, sisters: Norma "Patsy" (Don) Rice of Richmond, VA, Shirley (Al) Tibbs of East Lake, OH, Edra Green of Cowen, WV, Nancy (Gary) Williams and Alida (Marty) Cowger both of Webster Springs, and 5 grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Cowger officiating. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery.
